Repair and Service Contracts
When creating your disaster recovery and continuity plan, do not forget about companies with which you have repair or service contracts. At a minimum, you will need to know how to contact them if a disaster occurs.
Also consider what their role might be in a disaster affecting your organization. If you rely upon them for repairs, will you need to provide them with information such as a contract number or equipment model type? Would it be better if any services provided were suspended for a time, and does your contract allow you to do so?
Talk to your service and repair providers during this planning process to determine how they might help you to recover from a disaster. Use the Repair and Service Contracts Form to document your current providers, their contact information, and their role in your recovery planning.
