"The Visiting Nurse Association building suffered heavy damages as a result of a immense fire that investigators say started near the first floor of the 5 story building. The fire was first noticed by workers who were performing remodeling work on the building. They quickly evacuated the building when they realized it was already out of control. Dallas Fire-Rescue was notified by the monitoring alarm company of a potential fire at the building around 9:30 and crews were immediately dispatched to the scene. The fire had gained significant ground by the time crews arrived 3 minutes later. The fire and smoke was so intense, it could be seen from Oak Cliff."

"The building suffered fire, water, and smoke damage on all five floors before the fire was brought under control two hours later. The building was not equipped with a sprinkler system, as it was not required to have one installed at the time it was built in 1982. In addition to the Visiting Nurses Association, the building housed other organizations with Wells Fargo bank being among them."[1]
