How to Use This Website

Recommendations for users

Who should be involved?

Although it may be challenging to involve everyone - all staff members, your board and volunteers - in your organization's CPDR activities, it is recommended that you have as many individuals as possible take part in this effort. At the very least, everyone who may be called upon to help prepare for or respond to an incident must be informed of your efforts, and of any new policies or procedures. A sensible approach would be to establish a dedicated CPDR management team. This group will serve as the driving force behind the training and will be responsible for communicating information, organizing activities and delegating tasks and resources.

What to do with all of the forms?

We recommend that you store the primary copy of all of your completed forms and other related documents in a dedicated three-ring binder. When you have completed the training, this binder will serve as your "go to" source for emergency information and as a reference and starting point for your periodic updates, reviews and tests. You should also consider keeping at least a secondary copy of your materials, in either hard-copy or electronic format, in a location other than your office to ensure they are available even if your facility is not.

How to use the audio features?

Included in many of the sections are supplemental audio files. These will provide you with additional information and guidance. Audio files are MP3 format, which is a common format for music and audio files. Clicking on the audio link will launch the default player for MP3s on your computer.
