Living With Your Plan - Annual Maintenance

Now that you have completed the training program, you should be much better able to respond to whatever unexpected disruptions await you. It is not safe, however, to assume that you are now fully prepared. CPDR is not a one-time event, but rather an ongoing, series of efforts. It is recommended that your organization conduct an annual review, update and test of its continuity plan. In the following section, you will be provided with a suggested approach.

Note: A single annual review of your plan is the minimum level of effort you'll need to dedicate to the process in order to maintain an adequate level of preparedness. Both internal and external factors change, as will your preparation needs. These changes result in the need for periodic assessments, and may require adjustments to your plan and its documentation. Depending on your organization's working environment, its size and the scope of your work, more frequent updates may be advisable.
